Free and confidential immigration advice and representation are available from the organizations listed below. All are voluntary organizations, independent of the Immigration Service and the Home Office. Interpreters can be arranged if necessary.

Law Centre (NI) provides high quality specialist legal services in a number of areas of social welfare law. The Law Centre’s immigration unit offers a telephone advice service from 9.30am to 1pm Monday – Friday, and undertakes representation in complex immigration applications (including asylum applications) appeals to adjudicators and the Immigration Appeal Tribunal, and judicial review applications. The Law Centre also offers a specialist service to anyone detained in prison under immigration laws.

The Chinese Welfare Association works on behalf of the Chinese community in Northern Ireland to promote community development and racial equality. It offers telephone and face to face advice and help in making immigration and nationality applications.


Immigration advice is also available from solicitors, Citizen’s Advice Bureau and some independent advice centres.
